Joumana El Halwe is a passionate and experienced Registered Migration Agent who has been helping individuals and families navigate Australia’s immigration system since 2014. A proud member of the Migration Institute of Australia (MIA), she combines technical expertise with deep compassion and cultural understanding to deliver meaningful support to her clients.
Joumana’s journey into migration work was inspired by her lifelong commitment to social justice and advocacy. She holds a Graduate Certificate in Australian Immigration Law and Practice from Victoria University (2013), a Master of Social Work (2006) and Bachelor of Social Work (2010) from La Trobe University, and a Bachelor of Arts (Community development) from Victoria University (1996).
This unique blend of legal and social work qualifications allows her to approach every case holistically, balancing legal strategy with emotional and cultural sensitivity. She spent six years as a voluntary Migration Agent at the Victorian Arabic Social Services (VASS) from 2014 to 2019, working closely with refugees, asylum seekers, and migrants from all walks of life. Joumana is particularly skilled in partner visa applications, visitor visa’s, humanitarian and protection claims, family reunification and citizenship matters. Joumana also dedicates her time to attending tribunal hearings with her clients at the Administrative Review Tribunal (ART) to provide support and representation.
Fluent in Arabic and English, Joumana has earned the trust of individuals and families from diverse cultural backgrounds. Her ability to truly listen, understand, and advocate has made a lasting impact on the lives of those she’s helped.
